How To Make Ikonboard Skins
Ikonboard is a 100% FREE message board cgi script that will soon have full support
for MySQL and PgSQL (currently in full Beta testing mode). It rivals all the expensive board scripts
and has some additional feature that is not available on any other board....customisable skins and
language packs. It is easy to install additional skins and languages and once done your members can
individually change the look of your board by simply selecting one of the skins you installed in their
own Control Panel. It is only limited by your imagination and how much disk space you have. Another
great
thing is that everyone is following Matts lead (the scripts creator) so all skins and language packs
are 100% free and readily available from dozens of sites. Why pay money for an expensive board that
does the same thing that Ikonboard does? Especially when you can get the same thing for free?
To use skins with your Ikonboard Message Boards you will need to have installed version 3.6 or above.

What do you get out of this site?
Inside this site you will find a detailed tutorial on how to create your own skins. I took
full screen captures of the Ikonboard Test Site to ensure familiarity. I then took these
screen captures and labled each page so that you can see an overall view of what will change
with each selection. This tuturial is huge and many may complain that it is a bit over-explaining
but I designed this tuturial so that even the most novice person could create his own skin.
The Paint Shop Pro tutorial is a basic explanation on how to create your own graphics using this
program and something called "tubes". It also has tutorials on colouring the background
of your image so that it matches your website AND a tutorial for
creating Transparent GIFS. The Paint Shop Program is free to download and is a much less
expensive alternative to alot of the other software
out there. By using PSP and a variety of tubes you will not only be creating your own
graphics for your message board but you will soon find yourself creating graphics for your
entire website. Why pay someone to do something you can do yourself?
Finally, I have supplied an assortment of buttons and graphics in the "tube" format to be
used with your new Paint Shop Pro program. These graphics and buttons are all free to use and
will be updated on a regular basis. With your new knowledge you can create great
